We ship by Priority Mail or UPS Ground. We process and ship as quickly as possible, usually within 1 to 2 days. Delivery time will vary depending on shipping method and destination. There is an order minimum of $10.

SPECIAL SHIPPING (UPS Air, Express Mail) is available. Please provide a street address. You will be billed the actual freight charge plus a $3 handling fee. Please call for details.

Important! UPS charges us $6 for each wrongly addressed package, so please check your address information carefully. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to pass this charge along to you.

Customers in states NY, and PA: please add sales tax at your local rate (online, this will be calculated when you fill in your billing address).

RUSH ORDERS are processed immediately and shipped the same day if at all possible--the handling fee is an additional $5 above the actual carrier charge. Please call us to arrange this.

BACKORDERS are items that are temporarily unavailable. While our goal is to deliver your order quickly, it is occasionally necessary to backorder items. If an item is unavailable you will be notified on your invoice (there will be an entry in the "BO" column) or while you are on the phone; we will release your backorder as soon as we have new stock.

Unless you tell us otherwise, we charge you for the items that are not yet in stock, as part of your initial order, including shipping costs.


SHIPPING OUTSIDE USA
Due to the variable conditions of shipping outside the USA--prices will vary widely depending on the country and the method of shipping--we cannot provide a shipping chart that will work for everyone.

We charge the actual cost of shipping plus a nominal $4 fee for order processing and materials. Items are shipped either by US Postal Airmail (2-6 weeks), or Express Mail (5 to 10 days, at higher cost). If you would like your order shipped by FedEx Courier, please contact us. Registration or insurance fees are applied when we consider it necessary or at your request.

We'd like to let our overseas customers know that the US Postal Service no longer offers Surface Post shipping. This means that all overseas orders will now be shipped by one of the airmail options mentioned above.

All duties or customs fees and taxes (including VAT) are the sole responsibility of the customer, and are determined by customs authorities in each country.

If you need to know the exact cost for delivery, please phone, email, or fax us, or include a comment on your order from our website to request a shipping quote.

PAYMENT We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover Card charge cards. We can only accept checks from foreign sources if they are written in US dollars and drawn on US banks.

BACKORDERS are not pre-billed on overseas shipments. Tell us if you want to backorder out of stock items (online users can check the box if you DO NOT want to backorder items). You will be charged for the item and the exact shipping cost with no additional handling fee when the item is shipped.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

RETURNS are accepted if you contact us within 10 days of receipt (excluding audio, music, and video tapes that are not returnable, unless defective). Returns are to be sent to our PO Box address above or, if using UPS, send to:

GIFT CERTIFICATES & GIFT WRAPPING are available. Certificates are processed for free--contact us for details. Gift wrapping is $3 and includes a gift card.

PRICE CHANGES & DELAYS We publish current prices at the time of printing the newsletter, but suppliers may change prices without prior notice. Current prices are always available online. Forthcoming books are subject to delays for many reasons. We receive new books as soon as they are published, and we will fill your backorder promptly.

NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIPTIONS Your subscription to The Snow Lion Buddhist News and Catalog is automatically renewed for one year from the date of your last purchase (one issue outside the US), unless you request otherwise. If you wish to receive the News quarterly without making a purchase, we ask for a $10 yearly contribution for US mailings and a $20 yearly contribution for Canadian and foreign addresses. However, we are happy to send issues of the News for free, upon request.

Please notify us when you move--newsletters will not be forwarded by the Postal Service.

SNOW LION RETAIL STORE contains all of our online and mail order items. The store is located in the Kinko's Plaza, 605 West State Street (Green Street entrance). We are open Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Groups are welcome.

OUR SUPPLIERS We strive to ship items that are in excellent condition. Books and some dharma items manufactured in India and Nepal sometimes do not meet the standards we expect from products manufactured in the USA. This is unavoidable--we offer them for their authenticity and content.
