Dr. Andrew Holecek has been traveling the spiritual path his entire adult life, and has spent the past twenty years as a student of Tibetan Buddhism. He is an in-demand teacher of Tibetan Buddhism. He has completed the traditional three-year meditation retreat, writes a regular column on death and dying for Bodhi Magazine, published by The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, and has published numerous articles in the Shambhala Sun, Elephant, and other periodicals. Dr. Holecek was adjunct faculty at Naropa University and the Ngedon School of Buddhist Studies. He is the founder of the Forum of Living and Dying, and teaches seminars internationally on spiritual hardship and the Tibetan views of life, death, and beyond.
Dr. Holecek is a concert pianist with degrees in classical music, degree work in physics, and a doctorate in dental surgery. He is also the co-founder of the Global Dental Relief Project, which for the past 14 years has served the health care needs of impoverished children in five Asian and Central American countries. He is an accomplished skier and tennis player, and lives in Golden, Colorado.
