New Treasures Site: Pharping, Nepal

The "New Treasures Project" is located in Pharping, Nepal, approximately 30 kilometers from Kathmandu in the lush and beautiful Kathmandu Valley. The main property is a multi-level piece of sacred land surrounded by large green hills in the shape of the Eight Auspicious symbols. These symbols are highly regarded amongst the Tibetan Buddhists. The site is an hour's walking distance of Asura Cave, the precious power place recognized to be where Padmasambhava accomplished Vajrakilaya.

A second piece of beautiful, peaceful land for retreat facitlites is located high on a hillside a 45 minutes' walk from the main property.

The New Treasures project is primarily sponsored by Ripa Ladrang Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in the United States. The Ripa Ladrang board has elected to make this project one of their primary fundraising efforts during the years 1999-2003 in order to ensure the completion of this vital Buddhist center in Nepal. Construction of the New Treasures Project began in June 2000 and the goal is to complete the project by the middle of 2003.
All monies donated to Ripa Ladrang for the "New Treasures Sponsorship Fund" are held in a restricted account to be used solely for development of this project.
