Sydney's Triple Gem at Lam Dre

His Holiness the 41st Sakya Trizin

Three great masters will visit Sydney, Australia in 2009 to be part of a Lam Dre that is unlikely to be repeated. H.H. the 41st Sakya Trizin will be accompanied his son, H.E. Ratna Vajra Rinpoche and his elder sister H.E. Jetson Kushok Chimey Luding.

Lam Dre means Path and the Result. It is rarely given in the west because of length and the amount of organization involved. Its oral and written lineage stretches back in Tibet to the 11th century, and then to Virupa in India. Encapsulating the path to realization of the Ultimate View of the indivisibility of Samsara and Nirvana, Lam Dre is revered by Tibetan Buddhists in general, not just Sakyas. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, for example, received the Lam Dre from the late Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.

This first southern hemisphere Lam Dre of the new millennium will be staged in Sydney's Balmain, only minutes away from the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and central Sydney. As Lam Dre organizer Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe points out, this is a chance to spend six weeks with three great masters in the Lam Dre mandala.

Lam Dre 2009 Australia runs from April 25 to June 25, 2009. Visit www.drogmi.org for more information on this event.
