LOSING THE CLOUDS, GAINING THE SKY: Voices of Dzogchen Wisdom

ed. by Doris Wolter

Readers awaiting a new book from Sogyal Rinpoche (author of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying) will be thrilled by this new release featuring several new teachings by him, as well as from the Dalai Lama and many others.

This collection of 31 essays by contemporary teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, both Western teachers and Tibetan lamas, provides readers a multifaceted glimpse of the Buddhist practice within the Dzogchen tradition.

The collection also includes teachings from the Dalai Lama, Ringu Tulku, Francesca Freemantle, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, Dzogchen Pönlop Rinpoche, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, and many others. Three major sections cover Aspects of the Buddhist Path, Authentic Buddhism Today, and Bringing the Transcendent into Everyday Life.

From basic advice on turning the mind toward spiritual concerns through expressions of the highest insights on mind and reality, readers discover how to integrate Buddhist ideas and practices with the activities and experiences that make up our day-to-day lives. The book includes useful notes, sources, a glossary, an index, and contributor biographies.
