FALLING OFF THE ROOF OF THE WORLD: The Autobiography of the Ven. Lama Dudjom Dorjee

by Lama Dudjom Dorjee

Entertainingly written, with chapter titles such as "Never Steal Tea from a Psychic Lama" and accounts of the author's nomadic childhood, his harrowing escape from Tibet, and the early days at KTD. This charming book is a lively read.

This life story of the Venerable Lama Dudjom Dorjee also covers his life within the refugee communities of India. It explores how he came to study the Buddha-dharma, his interactions with enlightened masters, and why he came to the United States as a representative of one of Tibet's oldest and most sacred lineages.

Venerable Lama Dudjom Dorjee currently resides in Dallas Texas, where he serves as the resident lama and spiritual advisor to Karma Thegsum Choling Dallas, an affiliate Tibetan Buddhist meditation and study center of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (seat of His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa in North America). Among his many activites, Lama Dorjee holds an annual meditation retreat call the "Bluebonnet Retreat". He also conducts an intense purification practice known as Nyung-ne (or 1000-armed Chenrezik) several times a year.
