This series of rare prayers requesting Amitabha to transfer the consciousness of those who have died to his pure land, Dewachan, are sung by nuns living high in the Himalayan Mountains--associated with Kopan Monastery. If a dying person attains Dewachan--it is said--the conditions for enlightenment are perfect and one is never reborn into the lower realms of cyclic existence.
