The 17th Karmapa asked Thrangu Rinpoche to publish all the standard texts used by the Karma Kagyu shedras. We're honored to carry the following texts--all in Tibetan!

THE SEVENTEENTH KARMAPA has requested that Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche publish all of the Tibetan texts used by the Karma Kagyu shedras.

This is part of the ongoing process of reconstructing the Karma Kagyu religious educational system following its devastation by both internal political turmoil in Tibet and by the destruction wreaked by the Communist invasion. Rinpoche has created the Vajra Vidya Library for the purpose of publishing these texts, and all of the text preparation is being done by his monks and nuns. The result is the ongoing publication of a series of paperbacks in Western book format. In addition, Vajra Vidya Library is making available to us some books that are the work of Dharmakara Publications; they work in coordination with the Vajra Vidya Library, but are an independent organization.

Western students of Tibetan Buddhism find it very difficult to obtain Tibetan texts printed in Asia. This is why Snow Lion Publications is very happy to be able to offer these texts for sale in the West by special arrangement with the Vajra Vidya Library.
