Almost every Tibetan knows by heart the prayer/song that is the core of this recording. Tara is known as "The Mother of All Enlightened Beings." She inspires beings toward peace, happiness, prosperity, growth and transformation. The nuns of Kopan beautifully sing this practice which is performed on new or full moon days--it is known as Dolma Mandel Zhichok, "The Universe Four Times to Tara the Liberator."
