RED CHENREZIG (Gyalwa Gyamtso) Card

The visualization practice of the four-armed form of Red Chenrezig, known as Gyalwa Gyamtso- meaning 'ocean of victory'- is mainly practiced in the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Gyalwa Gyamtso is represented in sexual union (Tibetan: yab yum) with his red consort Vajra-Varahi (Tibetan: Dorje Phagmo), who holds aloft a skull-cup and curved knife in her left and right hands. Gyalwa Gyamtso holds the wish-fulfilling jewel before his heart between his lower right and left palms, and bears the attributes of a vajra and lotus in his upper right and left hands.
