MANDALA OF AVALOKITESVARA Card Andy Weber Deity card. #WDC13 - $ 1.50 (Tibetan: Chenrezig) This mandala of the eight-armed Avalokitesvara is based on the five Dhyani Buddhas representing the transformation of the five major delusions into the five wisdoms, mainly used in the purfication practice of "Nyung-nay", the fasting retreat. The four directional guardians sit at the gates. Above sits Vajradhara, the tantric form of the Buddha surrounded by the Tibetan lineage holders Atisha and Lama Tsong Khapa. Next to them in the clouds are Buddha Shakyamuni and the Medicine Buddha. Green Tara and Vajrapani reside on the ground. | |

MANDALA OF MEDICINE BUDDHA CARD by Andy Weber 4" x 6" card. #WDC81 - $ 1.50 The Medicine Buddha (Tibetan: Sangyae menlha kyil.khor) or 'great king with radiance of a lapis jewel' is the embodiment of all the buddhas' healing qualities. Recitation of his mantra and of his name is said to bring release from suffering, protect from dangers and untimely death. The center of the mandala depicts the Vimalasutra which formed the basis for the four secret medical tantras still used in Tibetan medicine today. The eight inner petals depict symbols for the seven Medicine Buddhas and Buddha Shakyamuni. The sixteen middle petals depict the sixteen major bodhisattvas. The outer petals show the symbols for the ten guardians and twelve generals (yaksas). The mandala is surrounded by the mantra of the Medicine Buddha. Just viewing the mandala is regarded as a blessing and will leave lasting imprints of health and well-being on the mind. | |

Syllables of the Kalachakra Mantra Card by Robert Beer By Robert Beer. Iconography explained. #BDC85 - $ 1.50 Known as "The Mighty Ten Stacked Syllables," (Tib. sPungs-yig dbang-ldan), these ten syllables (Om Ham Ksha Ma La Va Ra Ya Sva Ha) of Kalachakra's mantra also represent his entire mandala base and retinue of deities. The syllables stand upon a lotus and discs of the four great planets--Moon (white), Sun (red), Rahu (blue-black), and Kalagni (golden)--with a rainbow aura enclosing them. The first black vertical 'leg' of the Ya syllable represents the mandala's wind base. then the following red Ra, white Va and yellow La legs represent the mandala's fire, water, and earth bases respectively. The fifth red Ma leg terminates in a four-color syllable head, which represents Mt Meru. The sixth green Ksha leg represents the lotus and form god realms above Mt Meru, as well as deities of Kalachakra's enlightened body, speech and mind mandalas. the seventh blue Ham leg- which also crowns these seven stacked syllables, represents both the formless god realms and the deities of Kalachakra's enlightened wisdom mandala. The crowning red crescent moon, white sun and dissolving black flame represent the three component sounds of Om, and the syllables Om Sva Ha--symbolizing both the three psychic channels and the body, speech and mind deities of Kalachakra's mandala of great bliss. To the left and right of the stacked syllables are the blue syllable E and the golden syllable Vam, symbolizing the deity Kalachakra and his golden consort, Vishvamata. | |
